Located high above the Mississippi River on Eagle Bluff, outside of Fountain City, WI is Elmer’s Museum a place to spend the day with the family. See muscle cars, antique and classic cars, along with motorcycles, bicycles, wagons, over 100 pedal tractors and antique dolls. This museum houses one of the largest collections of pedal cars in the world, over 600 on display. There are 1000's of toys dating as far back as the 1800's. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the unique Italianate stone building was completed in 1862. At the request of George Gale, the Wisconsin Legislature granted a charter to establish Gale College. The vision of society is create a lively space that honors Judge Gale’s achievements while serving a broad range of cultural, educational, and civic needs of the region.

For nearly a hundred years the clock tower standing proudly at the top of the Independence City Hall has kept its faithful vigil. Since 1903 when the unique building was completed, it has been a proud landmark for the small city. The Wisconsin State Historical Society has called it the most visibly outstanding government building in Trempealeau County.

Main Street in Trempealeau is a hub of activity any time of the year but especially during biking season. With an awesome view of the Mississippi, it's understandable why the settlers called Trempealeau home at first sight!

The first regular passenger service between Green Bay and Whitehall began on January 1, 1874. The current 1914 depot replaced an earlier wood frame depot built in 1877. The new brick depot, constructed by the Green Bay and Western Railroad, included design elements typical of train depots in the early 20th century. The depot was certifiedand placed on the State and National Register of Historic Places April 19, 2006. Today it serves a visitor’s center on Thursday’s and Friday’s May through August.

No visit to Arcadia would be complete without a tour of our beautiful 54 acre Memorial Park and its unique tribute to veterans of all wars and conflicts. Stroll along the Avenue of Heroes, which is handicap accessible, to witness exceptional memorial statues of the fighting men and women who gave so generously for the freedom we enjoy today. It is an experience you will not find anywhere else, other than on a trip to Washington DC. The walk is laid out as a time line depicting the history of Arcadia since 1856. Each one meter block represents one year in history. The walk begins near the rotunda at the west end of the park. It is 1856 and Arcadia has just been established as a community.

Rev D.O. Van Slyke Statue	Galesville (608) 582-2868 Email Website
In 1869, Rev. D.O. Van Slyke-a Methodist circuit-riding preacher and Civil War veteran, believed that the Galesville area to be the biblical Garden of Eden. Van Slyke wrote a persuasive story placing Galesville at the absolute center of the biblical Garden of Eden. He attempted to prove his theory with evidence of the region’s configuration of river’s and lush agricultural production. While his theory was not accepted by the people of the Victorian era, you can still buy copies of Van Slyke’s theory in some of the Galesville shops and visit the statue south of the town square.
